Remembering Gavin

September 11th 2001 is a day that none of us are likely to forget. While I don't want to detract from the losses of others, I'd like to take this opportunity to remember my friend, Gavin McMahon, who was in the Twin Towers that day. From humble beginnings, he'd worked his way up to a senior, responsible position which meant that he relocated to New York. Sadly, he was working in the Twin Towers when the planes hit. :rose: Words fail me. So much pain and suffering caused then and there and after because of a bunch radicals who used religion as mask for their activities. In my heart, my hate and scorn for them is as boundless as the sorrow and sympathy that I feel for the fallen victims and their loved ones. They will never be forgotten.

A :rose: for Gavin, and another :rose: for your remembrance of him. ...but we should not remember the victims of this murderous plot on just one day a year. We should remember them every time we hear or read about another hideous scene of carnage perpetrated by the most evil thing there is - the corruption of men's minds. Only by marking each occasion can we become aware of just how large this hydra is, whose heads we must cut off. I, too, have lost a good friend to terrorism (different time, different place), but with regard to 9/11 I mark the words of (I think) Sam Harris: "Only losers have to hijack 'planes - winners have an air force."
