My wife thinks she wants an iPad. Knowing Apple for who they really are, are there any viable Android or Windows7 pads available that are worth a damn? I might also mention that I would prefer something that ran both Flash and Silverlight.

There's this[^] from Samsung. Not sure if it actually out or just about to be. Although someone posted about it (I think it was this one) earlier in the week and the price was silly (~$700).

There's the Galaxy Tab[^] coming out from Samsung soon. I must get a jacket like the guy in their advert though. If I put anything of a similar size in my pocket the whole thing sags and bulges destroying a good suit!

It looks awesome .. not sure whether it would be as user-friendly as Apple though :)

I find this interesting... in terms of operating systems (which is the only comparable item between Apple and Android/Windows 7) what makes you trust Google and Microsoft more than Apple? Depending on the topic we've all crucified Google and Microsoft (and Apple) at times. What automatically makes an Apple OS less desirable than one from Google or Microsoft? Also, surely hardware build quality and product support quality must mean something? In both areas Apple rates higher than any of the competition...
