Not an issue. Mrs Wife is a techie as well - she used to be a programmer.

Mrs Wife will just say "That's 5 pairs of shoes! No WAY!" Even though it's only 2, 2 1/2 tops.

I read the subject and your name and thought it said "armoured" and that this post might have something to do with tanks (and turret guns).

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it. My latest tip/trick Visit the Hindi forum here.

If tghat were the case, I would have include the industry standard disclaimer, "Liberals and Foreigners Avert Your Eyes"

Yeah, but you'd be getting a PC, not just an oversized phone that can't make phone calls.

The one the launched a few months ago was a 5" one running android 1.x. AFAIK the 7" one isn't out yet and noone outside of dell's got to play with it yet or seen a full specsheet so it's quality is TBD.

The difference is that when the AK starts acting like a cheap POS John won't be begging his wife to fix it for him.

My wife thinks she wants an iPad. Knowing Apple for who they really are, are there any viable Android or Windows7 pads available that are worth a damn? I might also mention that I would prefer something that ran both Flash and Silverlight.

I anticipate a slew of Android pad-like devices (10" form factor) will be released in spring '11, following CES.  It might be worth it to hold off until then if you can. /ravi

I agree. Android 3.0's the first version intended to work on big screens and won't be out till around then. Has Google followed through on its threats to block any 2.x tablets from the app store made by mainstream companies? (I'm not talking about the $100 POSes with resistive touchscreens that are so poorly build that they would shatter if dropped on a pillow).

Companies like Archos have been making media consumption centric tablets for years. Until one came out with an iHalo only 30 geeks actually cared and 30 sales doesn't make enough money to for anything impressive to go black.
