I posted an answer on StackOverflow. A few minutes later, the OP said he found the answer, but it took till the 5th page on the search results to find the answer. A few minutes later, I then proceeded to search again with my original query I used to confirm my answer (you should always do that). The question was the first result on Google then already. This all happened in about 30 minutes. Amazing!

I was disappointed to find that google-ing "Wow, Google is fast with its indexing" does not yield this page :-(

Apparently you were, specially using those very words. If you search with quotes it finds zero results and shows you the quote-less results. Looks like everybody now knows that google sucks. I use msdn search for everything now, including finding local restaurants, though you sometimes have to wait an hour fr the help update to finish installing.

So how much internet traffic is taken up by Google crawling the web? Has it passed email spam and porn yet?

He said, "Boy I'm just old and lonely, But thank you for your concern, Here's wishing you a Happy New Year." I wished him one back in return.

That is a very good question. I wonder who one could ask?

Google keeps a list of oft-updated websites, and the new material constantly gets folded into search results, just as it appears. Those new pages are more or less exempt from regular PageRank at first, and then settle in. SEO guys have used Youtube for that purpose for what seems like 4 years now...
