Why Windows 7 rocks today [modified]
-
Just got 2 new graphical cards to replace a broken one (don't ask me how I did it to get 2 for 1 still trying to figure that one out myself ;P ) Never had it this easy setting the pc up. Open case, put in the cards, boot up, install drivers and done. Even when I connected my third screen while the pc was running windows just detected it and a quick flash of the screens later and all three screens are active with the correct resolution. All I had to do was position them right and that was it. I figured after all the why windows ?? sucks today it was about time something good was said about windows.

Impossible, by definition Windoze s***ks always... even if it is working fine, then it is a fault to assume it rocks even if it rocks, it should always rock, as you pay a lot for it even if the best engineers are at work at MS, it s***ks because it has to. In the end, congrats, you found the only correct behaviour out of 1000 tries. It rocks, it s***ks, does not matter really... It is the only OS in our desktops (90% of), hence whatever it does we're stuck with it. Better have another OS to compare to, but Linux is an outsider and MacOS costs too much more When a giant as Oracle will finally move into desktop OSes then maybe we will get something different to compare to. In twenty to thirty years this may become possible, until then, only MS Windoze is there. Hence by default it s***ks. Did I make myself groan in a right way?

You know, Microsoft gets a LOT of flak when they screw something up (WinMe, Vista, Bob, That stupid paperclip)... This time, they actually got one right, so give credit where credit is due.

Yet most of the things you do probably depend entirely on stuff that Microsoft has produced. Are their products perfect... not even close, but I would doubt that anyone really puts out software that goes through the scrutiny that their products do.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

I was just pointing out that there are no real alternatives to MS Windoze, hence it rocks and it sucks just the same for us... really no point in getting excited over this...

I think there is.. regardless of the OS I always love it when a little feature like the original poster stated kicks in when you least expect it

Of course there are alternatives. Ubuntu is an alternative. MacOS is an alternative. If you reject MacOS because of the cost then what you are saying is Windows is better value than MacOS. That in itself is a choice between two alternatives. -Rd

I mean as a programmer: if the request is for windoze developers this is just because no one can afford to pay inusmuch as macos requires. I'm a developer... the only thing I can is to develop for the platform they ask to... hence 90% of the cases is windoze... hence I don't give a nickel for it rocks or it sucks... when it sucks I just look for a working workaround and I continue to code for what I'm asked to code and what I'm paid for. If finally Linux enters the real desktop market I will be happy to code for Qt under *nix... Until then I'm stuck with windoze... Hence, it does rock or it does suck it does not make any difference to me. As a professional I'm paid for developing under windoze.

People don't like to say nice things about Microsoft... Hell, I despise that company for the most part (Particularly their EEE strategy), but when they actually put out a good product, that deserves to be recognized too.

As a professional then, why do you insist on speaking like a 12 year old? It's Windows, not Windoze.
