I think this is more "I think teapartiers are idiots" more than "I hate America".

Wrong, but thanks for playing. Polls show that 45% of all Americans support the Tea Party's goals, while only 35% oppose them. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts. ;) FYI, at the time of the Boston Tea Party back in 1773, estimates are that less than 30% of all Americans supported the idea of a revolution.

But 45% is still a minority of Americans, also polls can be easily skewed Getting the Poll Results You want[^]

Yes? Your point is what? That 45% is not a plurality? That the 35% who oppose the fiscal conservatism of the Tea Party are the only ones who count?

          Keith Barrow wrote:

Absolutely, but there are numerous polls showing the results I cited and none showing the reverse.

The teaparty take advantage of the gullibility of people (this does not only apply to Americans). The rather shallow rhetoric takes into account that its adherents rarely check out the information they're fed Another technique they employ, continuously, is to make a number of statements, using a verbal syntax template, that virtually everyone can agree with, and then feeds in their lunacy, using the same pattern, which now becomes acceptable do the the forged similarity. Speeches, rallies, but above all, mob-mentality. By golly, they are, truly, the "Party of Palin" - for it's easy to criticize and give glittering generalities as a semblance of solution, but in real life (as we will, unfortunately, all to seen witness), they will only create partisan destruction. Idiot-worship at its best. Bush and his gang offered the same crap - and all but ruined the United State's economy, and the rest of the world along with it. But, you're welcome to polish up those jack-boots. It's a free country . . . unless you have your way.

Better go back to playing with your test tubes. Or your testicles. The truth is that there are just many statists on the left as on the right. All of them are ready eager and willing to use the power of government to order those who don't agree with them to live in a manner that will not offend them and to contribute via taxes to the costs of reducing freedom. Whether the lefty wants to force you to feed the poor or the righty wants to censor your books, or the theocrat wants you to worship the only true God using the only acceptable name, it is all about telling people how to think. The tea party is primarily united in its embrace of of fiscal conservatism, not willing to let the feds spend a dime telling you what to think. This, of course, scares the crap out of all statists no matter what political label they claim for themselves so they lie and attribute the motives they have to the tea party.

Oakman is not a bad guy. He is a strong conservative, but not too far right, unlike others you will also meet on this forum, eventually. To him, I am far left (hence my name Le Gauchiste), but in most countries on this planet, I would be considered more centered, probably. Speaking of that private forum, it is opened to any member that is at least 6-month subscriber to Code Project.

Not at all*. I think you are left of center, often able to make cogent and well-informed arguments for your point of view. I enjoy debating you because you make me think, occasionally, you even teach me something. The nice thing about SB1 is that the Neanderthals on both sides of the spectrum get spanked and end up leaving.

You shouldn't tease Majerus. He's a newbie. *Far left are the guys who regurgitate the day's release from Daily Kos as if it is their own.

It is not because you said it, but I think the same from you and some others. It is just Stan that leaves me flabbergasted sometimes. :-D
