IPhone / IPad / Android / Windows Phone 7 how to quickly test a web page without buying those devices?
-
I have a need to test something short and quick (a single web page online that is a demo from a company selling signature capture control for web pages). Is there such a thing as decent online emulators that can test this kind of thing or a group of people somewhere that can do this for a fee or otherwise. In short I don't want to buy one of each of those devices to do a quick test and may need to do more testing later but for now I'm just looking for quick and dirty confirmation of basic functionality. (The site by the way is this one: http://www.websignaturecapture.com/signature-capture-demo.php[^] )

It gets a little more complicated with Android since you have more browser choices. I personally use Dolphin HD the default browser. However, a quick test finds the signature block doesn't work in either browser

Windows 7 phone developer tools (includes emulator): http://www.microsoft.com/express/Phone/[^] Android emulator: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/emulator.html[^] As to the stuff related to apple, I've no idea. Edit: Just noticed you want 'online' emulators. I'm not aware of any of those; my links will install emulator on your computer.

I've seen an IPad / IPhone emulator for Apple...but typical apple they want you to only install and run it on an apple. Go to their IStore and look for developer tools, etc.

Thanks Rajesh, yeah I said online because I remember a few years ago you could go to a site that would faithfully emulate many different browsers for a fee and you could test your web pages on them. So I was hoping for a browser emulator for those devices but what you posted would definitely be useful. Cheers!

Bookmarked... Thanks! I've got all the development tools downloaded, but haven't got around to installing them yet. So many roject ideas, so little time. :sigh:

Yeah, talk about that to me. I purchased a device about a month ago thinking that if I spend money (instead of downloading an emulator), I'll feel the guilt and actually start developing something without being a lazy arse. But guess what!

Yeah, I know! I have an easy dozen projects in mind - C# and Android - that I want to do, but I have so little time to work on any of them that I get completely lost. It's a very good thing that I don't do this for a living! :-D
