About an hour ago I registered for my first MS seminar. It's about .Net Platform. Could you guys tell me if it's worth seeing and what's it like? :) Thanks in advance

My impressions from some seminars I saw here in Brazil: 1. Nice snacks, really good coffee break 2. Some free pens 3. Nice sheets of papers 4. Impressive ammount of money spent on techno-gadgets 5. Reviewing some old friends is good 6. If you are not self-employment, this is a nice excusive for not going to work And for the information? Well, nothing like downloading a demo VS.NET and some browsing. About 4 hours with a demo on hands and a toy project will give you a whole week of seminars. My latest article: SQL Server DO's and DONT's[^]

That about sums it up here, too. There's lot's of technical info presented at a rapid-fire pace that is impossible to absorb, as well, along with a ton of hype about features that aren't quite done yet. The most important things (aside from the really good food) fall into two classes: The very lovely young women who actually know the products and technology - unlike the hired cheesecake at Comdex - and the freebies they hand out. I got my first copy of Win2K about a year and a half before it was released, and so had a chance to play with it long before I had to deal with it professionally. That alone was priceless, as buying even a pre-release copy would have been completely out of my range. If only I could find one that offers a free MSDN Universal subscription to attendees...
