It sounds like you are taking this seriously, I can't be right surely?

That would be Forbidden Planet, one of my favourite films :-). Andy B
Tick VG. Excellent recollection my friend. BTW - were you at the match yesterday?
I have CDO, it's OCD with the letters in the right order; just as they ruddy well should be
Forgive your enemies - it messes with their heads

It smelled that bad? People often forget that Nielsen wasn't always a spoof actor, and appeared as the lead in a version of The Tempest, (let's see who knows which film that is) as well as the captain in The Poseidon Adventure.

The movie was Star Trek before Star Trek was invented: Forbidden Planet
A while ago he asked me what he should have printed on my business cards. I said 'Wizard'. I read books which nobody else understand. Then I do something which nobody understands. After that the computer does something which nobody understands. When asked, I say things about the results which nobody understand. But everybody expects miracles from me on a regular basis. Looks to me like the classical definition of a wizard.

Unfortunately I only get to 2 or 3 games a season as I live up in Glasgow but did catch it on the box. Looked like we defended too deep which only invited Drogba and Anelka to run at us and obviously conceded a lot of possession but possibly had the most clear-cut oportunities? I definitely think Ranger should start the next game in place of Shoela though. Andy B

He's slow. His attention wanders. He has no positional awareness and he's easily bundled off the ball. How is that different from Strolla?

How dare you insult Forbidden Planet?

So you don't think that Forbidden Planet inspired some aspects of Star Trek later?

I wouldn't say he's slow, he's certainly skinned a few full-backs on the times I've seen him? I'll bow to your knowledge there though as I know you see most of the games live. There are similarities between them but Ranger is young and can only get better, whereas Shearer's friend is as good as he's ever going to be, which is a shame because he's never got even close to realising his potential. That's not what I said. I remember when I first saw Forbidden Planet, I was absolutely gobsmacked at the special effects.

It didn't smell at all. It was a setup - he was using a pocket whoopee cushion. He only revealed it at the end of the show. [Aside: the Ed Sullivan theatre is insanely large - there's no way you could smell a fart unless you were standing next to the farter.] /ravi

I loved him Police Squad, funny very funny guy.
Just watched all the Police Squad-episodes two weeks ago. They are just brilliant. Police Squad! In color. :) Tonights guest star: Lorne Greene.

I liked the scientist gags... Ted Olson, Scientist: So Billy, electrostatic particles are created by an imbalace of electrons. The resulting charge is what we scientists call static electricity. Billy: Gee... Ted Olson, Scientist: It's, it's just like when your mom takes a dress out of the dryer, puts it on and it clings to every supple curve and soft, round... [there's a loud crash from the hall, then Frank enters] Billy: Oh Hi Frank. Eh, why don't you run along now, Billy. Next week don't forget to bring in those magazines you found under your father's bed. Billy: Ok, Mr. Olson. Bye
