Emigrating to a new job

Thanks! I read that before I posted.

I have a couple of friends who have done Australia to UK, and quite a few who have done UK to Australia, New Zealand or US, and a couple to Canada. Only issue for any of them has been if something 'goes wrong' back home you are at least a day away from getting there.
Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

That's also related to how when you have kids, they won't have any family here. Cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents are all back in their home country. Unless you get some of them to immigrate too.

At the moment, Vernon BC is a possibility....
Vernon is really quite pretty geographically and the weather is really mile. The pace of the town/city is pretty nice too. It doesn't have the hustle and bustle feel of the bigger centers.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Hi Room Something that crossed my mind yesterday, has anybody had any experience emigrating to a new job? whats it like? what does it entail? I am starting to mull over the real possibility of emigrating from the UK to British Columbia (Canada) Whats it like there? JC
I've never lived there, but I've visited, and BC is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. If you can find work that pays well enough to afford it, I'd leap at the chance. Good luck! :-D
Will Rogers never met me.

European culture or European descended culture is astonishingly similar. So culturally and socially you won't see that big a difference in life between the UK and Canada. It's different if you are from a non-European country like China, India or Kenya. Of course there'll be new accents, new laws, different weather patterns etc. but that'd be like moving across the country in England.

Agree, I've been to Vancouver and surrounding areas and it's truly beautiful.

No. I live in Calgary, but I love to take the drive down to Vancouver by going through the interior. I usually make a stop in Vernon for lunch/dinner as it is a nice relaxing place.
