Back in my rock & roll days, my definition of the perfect girl was reasonably simple. Above and beyond the obvious desire to have her look good in high heels and a little black dress, I just wanted someone who enjoyed the creative & party lifestyle of a musician. These days, prompted in no small way by, er, lessons learned (no bunny jokes, please :)), I find that my requirements are a bit more in depth. Someone who is naturally happy and positive by nature (harder to find that it would seem), intelligent enough for deep conversation, and while she doesn't have to be a full on programmer, a little geekness would go a long way. I mention this just in case Santa is reading CP, of course. How 'bout you guys - at least the ones who are single - who's the perfect geek girl for you? You never know, you might get your wish. Never underestimate the effectiveness of bribing reindeer. :-D

Some of the geek girls I know and have worked with are quite into music and have dated and married successful musicians. I'm thinking of 4 separate instances offhand. Without going into detail, one example is a female project manager dating the lead of a band that would be recognizable to some of you. EDIT: I think we are probably talking about different women in your earlier view, probably based on music style. I don't see many leggy intellectually challenged women when I go to shows. I was fortunate enough to be backstage at a show last week, all of the girls looked like they could be gamers.

You have NO idea how true that is. Though I've got say, once I figured out that I attract negative and depressive women, so that I can rescue them, and once I did enough therapy to at least recognize my rescuing nature and to stop it, I'm all of a sudden surrounded by healthy, happy and positive women. And while everyone goes through painful experiences, these are women that don't stay in that place and actively work on getting out of the negative space.

In all honesty, someone that really understands what freedom means, and makes choices out of freedom and in a compassionate way and honest way. But to get to that point, I, me, and myself had to do (and continue to do) a heck of a lot of inner work on being honest, open, and compassionate as well. It's been a rough road, because being compassionate toward another person means that I really know how to also be compassionate with myself. And something I'm thoroughly enjoying is having deep and meaningful relationships with women that don't tread into physical intimacy--it just keeps things so much simpler and also creates a really wonderful place of trust and safety. It's a rare and quite frankly, joyful experience. Anyways, that's my philosophizing for the day. :) Marc

I know a woman who in her rock and roll days married her perfect man: a musician. She worked in a famous (around here) music store growing up went to all the big concerts and was attracted to him as a musician. They got pregnant early in their relationship and they ended up getting married at quite a young age and having a son. Fast forward many years and he's still a struggling musician barely able to keep down a job, more often than not she's supporting everyone and I think she has a *very* different view of the perfect man. :)

Mrs Yoda is the perfect girl for me. She has a degree in computing, knew me and tolerated me back in the band days (she's got the photos of me with in Spandex with my hair glammed up).
