Just a quick question though, how much of a bung was required this year DD? Chris (CP) it would be good if you could put a little 'new' symbol next to the ones who gained this year.

Generally with "MVP" you stand out in the crowd. But with most of the people in Lounge being MVP,it seems being "normal" makes you stand out. Jus saying :-D

Since nobody else mentioned it, I think this is the fastest we've ever seen MVPs announced. Just four days (I think last year it was the last week of January).

Looks like most of the people posting in the lounge today made the list. The list isn't alphabetical, so I'm curious about the order...

Not all though. I guess I need to start posting on the programming side of the site too... Edit, that or find some sort of drivel that sucks up a million 5 votes.

An MS MVP generally has to show some aptitude or talent in the programming/IT field, whereas a CP MVP can be awarded for flooding the Lounge with dull and inane posts, making sh1t up, and pretending to be something you're not :)

I've been both MVPs in the past, and I guess that makes me someone with some aptitude and talent, and yet will flood the lounge with inane posts. Ah, perfect.

Your posts aren't usually inane - except that one maybe :)

So, it should be inferred that both aren't same and won't CPMVP won't get same benefits as MSMVP. What about Codeguru MVP, I guess they get benefits from Microsoft (like MSDN subscription)... :((

                          They get MSDN subscriptions? Wow.
