[... quote from the article ... ] Canada declared that Hezbollah was free to act on Canadian soil, but the Jewish equivalent of the Red Cross, Magen David Adom, had its tax-exempt status removed. Magen David Adom provides ambulances to the West Bank and Gaza. Hezbollah makes those ambulances necessary. Around the same time that Canada gave Hezbollah the green light, it threw a hissy fit over America's attempts to make sure that would-be terrorists don't cross the U.S. border. Why does all things have to go down to israel, jew, arabs, palestinian ... why does the fact that some canadians are anti-american has to do with the situation in Israel/Palestine ? Can't these people just do a dissertation without the need to find scapegoats, and out of context references ... Canadians ( mostly the anglo ones ) have a bad love-hate relationship with the USA because they are so similar, and need to tell every one that they are not american, and one of the only difference between the two countries are all social measures. For french Canadians ( Quebecois ) it's easier to be what we are, the language is different, the culture is much more larger ( it includes not only all of the anglo cultures around the world, but all of the french culture ); this makes life easier ... I can be called anti american, because I don't approve of much of the policies that the USA propose and enforce, I don't believe they are sound policies. Does that make me a ennemy of the USA ? I hope not, I still think the USA gave a lot to this world, good and bad; I just hope the new generation of American politicians will be more conscious about the rest of the world. Am I proud to be a Canadian ? I don't know if I should be, I was born here, I haven't live anywhere else, I've travelled a bit, but I can't say that I can compare my life to anyone else in normal day to day situations. I just can say that I'm lucky to be canadian. Comes one day when I'm confronted with the choice to change country, I will be really torn, where goes my allegiance ? what will be the criteria to go to one country or the other ? I don't know, and I hope I will never be in face of such a choice! Max.

Could you please define what a "terrorist organization" is ? (Don't worry, I don't try to defend Hezbollah, but this term is used so much than it doesn't have for me any signification anymore)

I should have write "anti-america" ( without the 'n' ) I see my position against the political country, not the people ... I wrote that I'm anti american because I don't agree with some of the policies they have. Bush has been the president for 2 years now, and as much as I don't like him, I would'nt want to be in his shoes, It would have been hard for any president of any party to be in this situation. I don't like W. Bush, I think he a pale reflection of his father, I didn't like him either, but was too young at the time to be able to judge and understand. I think he is a moron, and this is only from what I see, read and listen on the subject and in extraordinary circumstances! I wished dearly he'd failed as a president in normal circumstances! but since last year, nothing is normal ... and the fact that I'm canadian makes it easier to treat Bush a moron has nothing to do, our own prime minister, Chretien, is, also a moron ... and it's been known for sometimes now ... Also, there have been a number of incidents between Canadian and American politician over the years. I had a dream about W.Bush this summer, in that dream, I was a journalist in one of his conference, and I was asking him a question, don't remember the question, but W. just froze there, looking aournd for help, cold sweat running on his forehead, and he just left the stage, just like that without saying a word ... I don't beleive W.Bush can have a discussion with me on different subject and world events without him having counsellors telling him what to say. Max.

Max.

Methinks that you over evaluate your self. Of course that is a common fallicy of those who think that they have all the answers and everyone else has the questions. I'll be glad to take you on in an intellectual debate on any subject that I am conversant with - say anything from physics to music to philosophy and I am just a Texas boy like GW who did not get the education he did - I went to UCLA - he went to Yale. But I don't think I would have a big problem and there are no advisors here. Could you please define what a "terrorist organization" is ? (Don't worry, I don't try to defend Hezbollah, but this term is used so much than it doesn't have for me any signification anymore)

I don't think the world would care as much if the Palestinians only killed Israeli soldiers. But instead they purposefully target innocent civilians on buses, in restaurants, in shops, etc. And don't come back by saying the Israeli soldiers kill innocent people too, because I know they do. BUT, they don't target them on purpose. The Palestinians don't have an army anyway, they just have stone throwing kids. If they don't want to die, they shouldn't be trying to kill soldiers.
