Once we join The Code Project, we can only leave on CP's terms? By leaving I mean deleting the account. Is it like Hotel California? I have seen accounts of fakes, trolls, spammers and all getting deleted. So is it like the only way for one's account to be deleted is not through a simple request (as I made in bugs/suggestions forum which was promptly ignored) but by resorting to actions that violate the T0S? One may say it is as simple as not visiting the site anymore but I feel it to be very uncomfortable for my footprint to remain on a website that I no longer want to be part of. Hence I want my account to be deleted.

Did you just tick the terms and conditions when you signed up without reading them first? When joining you agree to sell your soul to CP. Seriously, you dont need to leave. Your just probably more suited to the lounge than GIT thats all.

If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

You posted your message 9 hours ago. For me, that was near midnight. In canada, that's late afternoon, possibly after work. Looking at your profile, you call yourself an engineer. So I assume you're familiar with the round earth theory? Give the poor admins a chance to reply before you get all in a tizz. (ps, you forgot to mark your current post as a rant). Iain.

Obviously the entire thing is your choice but, hey, just take it easy. Just because you got downvoted and a few of your messages got removed, you need not move out of the site completely.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it. My latest tip/trick

I can say that about you too, may be some help for fetishes too that you have. Just because a member wants to leave a website and want his account to be deleted doesn't make him anything like your "advice" suggests.

Ignore the flames in the box, that's just for show. It's guaranteed your message will reach the appropriate staff who care about you.

You claim to be a person so I assume you can at least look at things like say a web page and give it a cursory glance. I did post it some 10 hrs ago. I got a email response from Sean right away and that is why I replied to my own request. Then I see the site owner (IDK if I am completely correct with that) Chris Maunder replies to posts below and above mine but not mine. Neither do I get any further email communication. That to me is ignoring. And btw my OP was not a rant but a genuine query, may be I missed that question symbol. Rant would have been me crying over things and pointing fingers.

It is not about the action but the message the action sends. I just don't want to part of this site anymore (for a lot of other reasons too). I just made a request that didn't get response, so asked the people here how tings were (it was a genuine question). I am not being a drama queen (if anyone gets that feeling).

The reply to your own question there does not get send to Chris his email. You have 2 options either wait till Chris looks at the forum in more detail and sees your post (or Sean does). Or email Chris directly. (You'v been a member long enough to know what his email is)

It might be true but I feel it is better if I just leave. :)

So why are you making a big song and dance about it. You dont have to wait for for your account to be deleted if you truly wanted to leave. You can just click that cross in the top right of the window and be gone.

If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Why don't you read my OP completely before making useless sarcastic suggestions. Sheesh. Why are you guys making it harder that it has to be. I don't want to be a drama queen and that I am not anyway. I just wanted to know how things are here. May be it was a mistake. I won't reply to anyone anymore on this thread. I'll talk in private with Chris and Sean.

I must get a clever new signature for 2011.

Yes. I think asking people how it is done here was a mistake. Just that I was expecting another reply from him, either in email or to my reply post in bugs section itself and didn't get it. Anyway, I have started talking to him. That is better than having pointless discussion here. I realised it, better late than never.
