If you need a hammer get C and shut up. If you need a nail gun get C++ and shut up. If you don't need *those* things (and good design should tell you) then by all means get a factory, factory, factory. --code-frog Why would you need to date, when C++ is your soul mate?! --Steve Echols

It's like when my daughter thought it was amazing that you could turn LPs over, and play music on the other side, too.

Did they use cassette tapes? I remember some computer you attached your tape machine to it.

Yes, I had an early Commodore 64 that used a cassette tape top load and run programs from.

In Windows, you can actually assign the hard drives A and B. :)

I've stopped doing that when I realized that, in every single instance, if you use a partition resizing utility[*] and it's gotta reboot the machine to do the job, the A and B drive letters are gone after rebooting (although it's just a matter of remapping them with the disk manager applet). OTOH, that was before I moved to 7...maybe that's been fixed. [*] Even if you're not touching drives A or B

My Acorn Electron had that... took upward of 10 minute to load a game.

One of my first computers was an Amstrad 128k, a whole 128KB of RAM! http://www.soxlamps.com/cpc6128_files/Amstrad_CPC_6128.png[^] I felt priviliged because my friends were still loading their games from tapes....you'd sit there watching a loading screen as the picture slowly drew itself to the screech of the casette, only for it to crash at 95% I learnt to program BASIC on that :)
