Right, because it was the IRA that started the sectarian violence.

Toxteth, St Pauls, Brixton, and those are just the riots I can remember. Inflation at 20%, unemployment rocketing, the north utterly devestated. Coal mines closed, industrial production wiped out. And now Britain is totally dependent on London for its entire income, and look where thats got us. Yeah, indeed, she was very good at destroying things. But wht did she replace it with? Unfettered greed?

Couldn't have said it better! Wonder how we'll get the Falklands back next time with a tiny Navy, no merchant navy and 2 shipyards left? Never mind though, at least she deregulated the city, that worked out well. Andy B

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the 'big-bang' in the city was on her watch too (1986?). Fun as it is to blame the hapless Brown for everything he can only be blamed here for contiuing her policies. Andy B

sorry if it offends but we cannot afford the "public" sector we have now without adding huge loss making privatised industries to the bill. or do you miss the miners striking every 5 minutes or BL out for a week because someone changed a lightbulb. the problem with public industries is that you need to prevent imports to make them work and once you do you hand control to the unions to blackmail you which they do at any oppotunity.

You cant outrun the world, but there is no harm in getting a head start Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Utterly untrue. Thatcher deregualted the credit industry because you cant use incterest rates to controll inflation, the very corner stone of her ecconomic policy, and borrowed fromt eh IEA, unless you have people in debt. And it is this easy credit, unfortunately NOT STOPPED by Blair and Brown that is responbsible for todays utter mess. A mess so deep and goey it will take the UK decades to come out of it. And if you dont believe me look at the figures.
