Ugh. I just got a message from my friend promoting his business and replied to it along with a recommendation for him to contact my girlfriend for help with his web work. After replying I double checked who the conversation was between. Yeah, myself, him, and 980 others. IMHO it is a little too easy to accidentally reply all on FB. I didn't say anything personal, but now it seems like a shameless plug for my girlfriend. It's also embarassaing because she was on the conversation list, as are a ton of our mutual friends. Ugh. [Thanks for the 1 vote facebook supporting troll, I could care less. Go update your status now and click some "like" buttons on a corporation's profile that could give a sh*t about you and just wants your info for marketing.]

AFAIK when you are sent a message along with 900 other people there is no reply or reply all. If you reply it goes to everyone who was sent the message. They only way to privately respond is to create a new message to the original person. It really is crap. Good luck with V-Day! :)

Its a bit like a social life, but you can check out whether your ex-girlfriends are still hot without them knowing. Apparently. :-)

It's just like myspace, or friendster before that, or AOL before that, or Prodigy before that. Actually it's just an overhyped BBS.

No BBS wasn't a even fraction of this crap. In fact I think BBS could make a revival of sorts.

Not no friends, although I understand your meaning. My intent was that they have no friends, but are pretending they have them. The "and" joins the two items into a single one and parallelism would require that both versions be, therefore, described in the positive in order to imply the negative. We both mean the same thing. Now I wonder about that construction.

There's not. There are personal messages and wall postings for the world to see.
