So Han Solo has done himself? I always thought he was rather keen on Leia.

    Will Rogers never met me.

Going "Solo", having a "Leia"... all these Star Wars names seem rather euphemistic.

han is have as in "they have done"... if it refers to possessions then it is "tienen", as in "they have many weapons"

Ah, so "han" sort of means "in the past"? And "tienen" means "own" or "possess"?

yes, the verb "haber" is used mostly as an auxiliary verb, not for "own" or "possess", but both "haber" and "tener" are translated as "have" in English... i think only in legal jargon they use "haber" as a (non auxiliary) verb.

...what he needs to be awesome. That is my interpretation of his name. After playing with Google Translate for the last hour or so, I've discovered that "han" is Spanish for "have" and "solo" is Spanish for "only". Maybe "have only" means that the only important thing is to have stuff (relates to "haves" vs "have nots"). Han Solo is apparently a have. What do you think... does the Spanish interpretation of his name have any significance to the Star Wars character?

As long as he still shoots first, he can call himself whatever he wants :)

Spanish? Who knows. However, in Japanese "han" means "half". Japanese doesn't have an "L", which would be approximated with an "R". Depending on how the "O"s are stretched, "Souro" can mean "race track". Or "Sourou" can mean "weather", "premature aging" or "premature ejaculation". So in Japanese Han Solo could mean "half track" or "half an early squirt". Which don't seem to pertain to the character, but that didn't stop me from posting my musings. ;P

Maybe ol' Han likes to go to the race track on rainy days and have himself a half measure of a half measure using his half measure.
