Just figured out after a couple of days of hassle, how to build a triple nested gridview in asp.net with user controls , export this to excel and have a nice grouped printout from excel that shows the relevant data. While I know this is old hat to some, not having known diddly about asp.net just a couple months ago and being still very new to programming, this one had me doing a funky dance up the hallway(with nobody watching of course) being extremely proud of myself for figuring this out with no help but CP and Google. (Mentioned in a few prior posts that I am the one and only person in this company that even knows what code looks like) Do you experienced guys still have those days? or is it all just another day of writing more code?

All the time! I've been programming for umpteen years and still get moments like this. I think that's why I like programming so much. You have a grand sense of satisfaction with what you've done. Kind of like my life...one failed marriage, one failed engagement but I finally have someone that even though she doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about, still cares enough to celebrate with me over something which may seem so trivial to her when I complete a project or even figure out how to do something I've been working on for a few days. (squisy guishy feelings all over)

I have nothing more to say.

well I've been married for 18 years to my first wife, and she does the same, including the eye rolls because she actually has NO clue what I'm talking about only that I seemed to have accomplished something so shes happy too. This one was at the office though.... lol I'm sure if I had been seen doing that it would have been funnier looks than just an eye roll.

I've been a professional programmer for 30 years and I still have those moments. Most recently it's involved C# and WPF. There's some seriously groovy stuff in there :-D. Of course, my funky dance probably looks a little different from yours: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFz2WkVAk38[^]

Relish the accomplishment. It sounds like you have few to zero people around you that will understand what you did, but do not let that get you down. Hopefully, it is a simple, beautiful construct that you will be able to use many times over.
