I am currently in country side and yesterday I left my notebook on the floor and ants seems to have found new home in it. There are lots of tiny red ants coming out of keyboard every now and then and I can see them through the spaces between keys. Any solution to get rid of them ? I command them to get out of my notebook but they are very tough and didn't listen to the command. :)

They sound like raspberry crazy ants, and they actually eat the insulation on wires and stuff, and have been known to completely ruin eletrical and electronic devices. To make matters worse, they're very difficult to kill. I think your only recourse is to completely disassemble your laptop as much as possible, and use compressed air to blow them out of the system - or buy a new laptop and let the ants have the one they live in. If you pick the compressed air approach, have a bunch of large plastic bags to put the sanitized parts into so the ants can't reacquire them. Finally, stop eating food while seated at your laptop.

Sounds like the so-called Rasberry Crazy Ants[^]. Which are attracted to electronics. Which they will eat.

We think they came from South America (aboard ship, not walking), so could be anywhere else, too. Nasty little guys. Bazillions of them running around here. And they bite.

Use some canned air to try to get them out, or just suffocate them and spray them out.

Open up the notebook and place it in a containter. Then close the container and light a cigarette and blow the smoke into the container. Eventually the smoke should kill them off. :)

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

                            1. use a vacuum cleaner 2. use pressurized air. 3. kill them using other methods (CO2, ...). 4. Remove the battery, put the laptop on a bag and then on the fridge for half an hour... all the metal parts will freeze and then put the laptop without the bag under the sun. It is the second time I see this question here... It is amazing that this could happen once... Truly amazing that it could happen twice... Ultra-truly amazing that it has happened to two different :bob:ians...
