VS2010 error C3861 - update
-
I mentioned a few days ago that some members had started getting error C3861 in VS2010. After a few more reports, it seems that the cause might be a security update for MS Visual Studio 2010 (KB2455033). So, if you haven't been hit with this yet, you might want to skip this update. For those who have been inflicted with this update, the workaround is to re-install 1) the SDK; and/or 2) VS2010. Re-installing the SDK might be enough, so I would try that first (be sure to delete/rename the SDK folder before re-installing). I haven't been able to find an "official" Microsoft acknowledgment of this problem, so I'm just presenting here what the few facts suggest. If you aren't getting this error, then you might be OK, and I would not rush to re-install anything.
Best wishes, Hans

There is a solution here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/smondal/archive/2011/04/25/kb2455033-fails-to-install-from-windows-update.aspx[^] Install KB2519277 for c++, then KB2455033 (Assuming you have VS2010 SP1 :)). It worked on my rig, no bad thing because I was well on my way to exhausting my pitiful download limit.

I am having the same problem. But I thought that this would be fixed if I install SP1. But thanks for the information

Please let me know what you did to fix it.
Actually, the issue is not fixed yet. But I thought of updating after I install the SP1. And the KB also suggests the same.
