Yeah right. With just 6 months of data they can estimate the sales five years from now...

Sure. It is quite simple: Nokia switches from Symbian to WP and keeps its market share. Or not. :)

Not going to happen. Also interesting how the Windows line is basically decreasing then randomly skyrockets in the near future. Ha!

I won't believe any of it, until fat_boy[^] has analyzed the data. I bet he'll find who has fudged their figures. :)

Alot of companies out there will do this type of projection with 0 months of data. The person that used to be the president of my company said that he wanted to grow the company in 5 years to be a 100M+ company. Needless to say he does not work here anymore.

If he can't he'll claim it's only a model and dismiss it out of hand.

Not sure, as WP7 devices are top-the-line and thus expensive. I just hope for a competitive marked to produce a better phone than my great Android. :)

Well, it's easy to make predictions for the period immediately following the end of the mayan calendar. I mean seriously - who's gonna be around to see if the sales predictions come true?

I like how the article predicts android sales will slow in 2013. Let me just grab my crystal ball.... I had high hopes for WP7. I've published several apps/games for it. IMHO Microsoft has dropped the ball in how the phones marketplace is setup. One frustration is that indy game developers who want to put out an ad based game quickly find their app banished to the "Free" list where it's hard to find anything without tons of scrolling and hoping. MS is all about pushing their XBox live games above all else. Aside form hurting developers this is horrible UX for the people trying to find apps. Been there, done that, and now I'm switching phones. I've started developing for android instead hoping to find greener pastures.

Well most the decrease is probably coming form more people throwing away their winmo 6.5 phones than are picking up WP7. As for the skyrocket, I'm not holding my breath. I could see it turn around to climbing gradually. That's about it.

Maybe they're projecting that as the point Microsoft decides to stop advertising that their phones are better because people like using the competitor's phones too much.
