      1958 Triumph Herald -> 1980 Fiat 128 -> 1981 Fiat 128 coupe -> 1980 Alfa GTV -> 1985 Renault 25 -> 1989 Peugeot 405 -> 2001 Ford Mondeo -> 1998 Fiat Coupe -> 1997 BMW 316 The best were the Herald and Fiat Coupe. The Herald, old, convertible, fun, the Fiat a 220 BHP monster. :)

            Why would you rent a bike if you already have one? ;P

                Yeah, its a nice car. Only problem is the power steering belts break, fall into the cam shaft belt, and destroy the engine. And thats what happened to mine. :(

                  Never felt the need for a car. I've owned a host of motorbikes though, and there's another long list of motorbikes that I want to own. :) I rent a car when I need.

                          Same here, and I live in a small, country town, where everyone says that they couldn't live without their cars. IMO, they could live a lot better without the expense and maintenance time required for a car. And I'm kinda proof of that.

                            Lost count of the number of cars I have owned (because I have been driving for longer than I care to say not because I have lots of cars) but my favorite was my Jaguar S-Type with a Toyota Land Cruiser a close second. Can't even remember some of the cars I've driven or owned and now I don't even have a car: walk to the station and drive the wife's car if we go out.

                                    I have had, in a vague temporal order, Vauxhall Magnum, Astra, Cavalier, Ford Capri, Audi 100, Porche 911, Senator 3.0 Manual, Jaguar XJ6, Jaguar XJS V12, MR2 Mk2, MX5, Peugeot 206CC and a Ford Transit for a few weeks once.

                                        '78 Mk4 Ford Cortina -> '80 Mk5 Ford Cortina -> '81 Mazda 929 Estate -> '93 Vauxhall Astra 1.7 TD -> '99 Vauxhall Omega 2.5 v6 estate -> '08 Citeroen C1 -> '11 Peugeot 207 SW. All very slow and sedate (apart from the V6 omega that was pretty good especially power sliding it around the A3 roundabout near Esher). Now the fun stuff... a host of 50cc & 125's -> '98 Suzuki XF650 trailie -> '01 Honda VFR800 -> '03 Honda CBR RR Fireblade (954 CC) -> '99 Suzuki GSX 750F (the winter hack) -> '08 Honda CBR1000 RR 08 Fireblade (the summer fun...)
