I'm working on a project with a developer that only have express. I did the first parts of the project and sent it to him. I wrote in a TDD manner using Microsoft framework. He only has express and I'm introducing him to TDD. I only just now find out express doesn't support test projects! Have to change all the test to NUnit now and relearn it! Plus how to debug using NUnit! The joys!

Why don't you tell the other developer that it's time for him to pony up the dough and become a real developer.

That's not really Express's fault: if they included everything they would only ever ship the free versions! Instead, that is either the other developers problem - he can always buy a "proper" copy, or yours for not checking the specification in advance!

The Express version has 90% of the features, hadly a reason to complain.

Yeah, it's great. Anyway it boosts toward managed code adoption, with the lack of resource editor for C++ (BTW without the resource editor does it still deserve the 'Visual' qualifier?).

It's free so don't complain... Surely it can work for lots of things, but it would not have sense if the express edition would have the same contents than the official one...

Good point about the visual qualifier.

..just follow the "Using NUnit" section in this MSDN article[^]. You can continue running MSTest and your developer could use NUnit.
