Well, the guy has just confirmed that his foundation is donating one billion dollars to help with vaccines. I'm prepared to cut him a little slack here.

Out of curiousity, why link to a shortened URL and add a text description of where the URL points to rather than just pointing directly to the destination URL?

I see your point, but keep in mind we are talking about billions that could be theirs... More importantly history has showed us that people born rich can burn through in days what normal people would consider a high class living for the rest of their life. I admire him for only (yes I said only) given them 10 mil. They can choose to: 1. live somewhat modest lives and not have to do a damn thing for the entirety of it 2. Blow it all in a "My daddy screwed me so I will show him" shabang and hope like hell daddy reconsiders 3. Invest and try to succeed as their father did
Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.

Originally I shortened the URL to post it on Twitter, since the original is far too long for there. Then, while still in my clipboard, pasted it here right after. Yes, I could have changed the original link to the full URL, but, I didn't. Why? Because, I'm an idiot, I guess...I just didn't think of it! :doh: It's Monday and I haven't had any coffee yet today, is that not reason enough?! X| :laugh:

Gates isn't the only one. Gene Simmons is doing something similar: Gene Simmons Will Not Make His Children Rich[^] The kids are basically setup with an allowance to cover the basics. Encouraged to work from there if they want more.
Yeah, well, I'm not going to make my kids rich either...for different reasons. :(( There is always hope they will make ME rich, I suppose! :laugh:

I think the remarkable thing is that he drives himself. My wife worked as a nanny for someone who had less than .5 billion dollars, and driver on staff full time.
