it's impossible not to read race into it. the thing is full of racial stereotypes, and it has a long history of use as a racist joke. if that wasn't your intent, fine. i'll take your word for it. but maybe reading a little closer next time would be prudent.

Perhaps, but my way of reading things like this is usually anti-gov't and I would tend *not* to see racial/prejudicial slants in things. My intent was a humorous jab at the gov't welfare system, not anything/anyone else.

Actually I did see that thread, but didn't get the reference due to the vitriolic response of certain other CP members throwing my thinking off-kilter. Good joke, even if it had to be explained to me.
