Murder is a crime against a person, segregationism is a crime against humanity. Both should lead to court with the same result. Jason Henderson wrote: Now if they start lynching people, I suspect we'll see them on the terrorist list. You mean if they start lynching people again :~ ?

But Byrd used the N word just a couple of years ago. By using the same level of thinking the democrats are using against Lott, we can say that Byrd is a racist.

So not allowing a person of a different race to drink from the same water fountain as you is a "crime against humanity"? From this statement alone, I think we should never let the French run anything. It may be a crime, but not against humanity. KaЯl wrote: You mean if they start lynching people again ? Exactly.

You need to get out from under that rock from time to time Chris. ;) The Democrats from Ted Kennedy to Kwaese Mfume (that has to be misspelled) have lambasted Lott for their own political benefit. Even Jesse Jackson stepped into it.

this article[^] is about Trent Lott. I'm not a specialist of US internal politics, but from the articles I've read I believe this guy is one of these f*cking "hidden" racists, who is now ready to say anything to save his job. (This rant is NOT about the GOP, I don't know if Lott is representative of the Republican mentality)

this article[^] is about Trent Lott. I'm not a specialist of US internal politics, but from the articles I've read I believe this guy is one of these f*cking "hidden" racists, who is now ready to say anything to save his job. (This rant is NOT about the GOP, I don't know if Lott is representative of the Republican mentality)

I have no love for Lott, Republicans, Democrats, Thurmond, or anyone else involved in this. But 'fucking "hidden" racists'? That's a bit disturbing, Karl. Ever hear of a guy named Joseph McCarthy?

The one of the witch hunts ? His anticommunism leaded him not so far from fascism. He was eventually condamned by the US Senate, wasn't he ? Do you want to say that Lott was promoting this side of Thurmond? He couldn't ignore the other side of the character, or he's really a moron. It's like Haider in Austria promoting Hitler for his "orderly employment" policies.
