only problem is that i thought it was malware because... 4 came out just a couple of months ago and i couldn't believe they'd put a new major release so soon. now that i have it, i still don't know why it deserved a major revision. works fine. exactly like 4.

They're trying to catch up with IE and Chrome.

i've heard that. it makes no sense, however. if the number is important, they could've just called it FF v4027 and dared the others to follow.

To us programmers this may be the case, but when it comes to mere users they will probably fall for the marketing crap.

Yup, people tend to think that frequently upgraded application is bug free.

Nobody seems to have noticed, but they appear to have removed the built in Profile Manager (link[^]). It seems you need to download it separately. Not a big thing, but since I have always used at least two profiles (work & leisure) it annoyed me just enough to go back to Chrome as my primary browser for the time being :)

It seems good... no issues. Some of the addon gets disabled after the upgrade, that you can enable.

You should upgrade immediately! It's open source! They know better than you! Do as they say!

Did the "Do not track" request come in this version or 4?

I think that is supposed to be a 5.0 feature. However I have not seen that in action in the week or so I have used FF 5 and I do not really know what it does or why I would want this.

It's a manual setting so yours might not be switched on.
