In fact for the last three years, I have missed roughly 10 Saturdays at work. My family and friends actually get worried if they phone me up on Saturday and I am not at work, they think I am deathly ill or had a terrible accident. Friends even plan ahead booking time off with me on Saturdays but making sure there is enough time so I can pop into work and do what needs doing. :) And I am sure there are plenty of other CPians who work many a Saturday.

Sure, you work a part-time job, but that is like eating half a whale and saying you know what the whole thing tastes like! You guys have it easy. Long holidays, debauched drinking sessions, half days of lectures. ;P

Me? Not a chance! When I started with my current client, they needed software to start a business, and they needed it fast. We moved the project to the director's house, I moved into his house, and we worked 10 hour days 7 days a week for months. Then after launching the software, we moved backed to the office and work most Saturdays and Sundays. I've had enough, and will now only work weekends if its a special occcasion, such as an upgrade or something that requires downtime.
