With respect, it seems to me that much of the actual system in the US is a danger to what the US is *supposed* to be about. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002
C# will attract all comers, where VB is for IT Journalists and managers - Michael P Butler 05-12-2002
Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

But they want good ratings (so they can sell more advertising) and love sensational stories. Their news writers can stress the points they want to stress and gloss over the points they want to gloss over. That story was written from the perspective that all of those people who were detained or arrested are saints and that the INS/US Government are the gestapo. It simply wasn't balanced reporting IMO. If it is not right, then do something about it. Write to your congressman, senator. Get onto the local news, join a protest march. This is America, make use of your rights before it is too late. Michael Fat bottomed girls You make the rockin' world go round -- Queen

The point is: You don't ask people to register, and when thex step forward, you put them in prison. Next time they won't. Would you step forward if you know prison awaits you?

The point is: You don't ask people to register, and when thex step forward, you put them in prison. Next time they won't. Would you step forward if you know prison awaits you?

No, but then again I don't commit crimes and I wouldn't attempt to stay in a country illegally by breaking immigration laws. This leads us to the crux of the situation: The ones who had committed no crimes or were here legally were not detained. I beleive the laws in Germany are very similar to the US in this area. If a foreigner commits a crime they can be arrested. True? Also, if a foreigner violates immigration laws they can be detained or deported. True? Why does everyone expect the US to do anything different? Mike Mullikin

My interest in England and Russia is about the same. I'm fascinated by history, and the US is low on my list only because y'all haven't been there long enough for my liking. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002

Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

I love history and really enjoyed touring the Spanish countryside. I stayed in the Basque region for two weeks touring villages and their cathedrals. Remarkable!! Another huge drawing point for Spain is the women. I've never seen so many stunningly beautiful women in one place. ZOW!!! :-O Mike Mullikin

I wonder if they died for rounding up immigrants from islamic countries with "uncertain" status.

On the morning of September 11, 2001 two distinct groups of people boarded flight 93. One group planned on arriving in San Francisco and seeing friends, family or business associates, the other group planned on killing everyone on board and hundreds of civilians. One group died trying to protect, the other trying to murder. Mike Mullikin
