X| Absolutely infuriating story of a man who, with his pregnant wife, lost his temper with a Portland airport security screener who'd made his wife lift her shirt in view of 100+ passengers. He was cuffed, arrested, charged, banned. When he tried to defend himself, he ran into a wall of omerta and revisionism, as the authorities manufactured sins to compound his crime with and refused to let him see the videotape of the incident, which, he claims, would exonerate him. I've gone through all the articles and part from the inhumanity shown , it is clear that the monkeys doing this couldn't stop a terrorist (I saw 3 ways to get a composite material knife past them) so I would advise people not to fly from this airport for their own safety ! :wtf: When I was travelling to and from Germany last October their security measures were thorough, logical and still considerate towards passengers. A model to learn from. I await the settlement value with pleasure and assume the film about Portland will not be so complimentary  Elaine (not fluffy on this one) The tigress is here :-D

Well, you'd probably have to accept a pay cut, but then there is the security of a Federal job to offset the loss...:-D:rolleyes: Some ideas are so stupid that only an intellectual could have thought of them - George Orwell

There are so many countries who have been dealing with terrorism. I really wonder if we consulted with them at ALL before coming up with our normal knee-jerk plans. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

LOL, even though I feel that they (security) are going overboard, I find many of the responses very funny. Ask any customs agent about the strange places they find stuff. Drugs on a 2 year old? Yes, it happens. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

Sadly, the US has the worst airport security in the western world. That is not a joke. 1. Metal dectors unplugged. For up to 2 weeks before someone notices the power light isn't on. Reported in the Register, a uk online newspaper. 2. People getting through metal detectors that go off. Reported on several news programmes in the uk. There was the tibetan guy who was stopped at random getting onto the plane and had knives and mace etc. on him. On a flight FROM Orlando, Fl. three men were found to be carry brass knuckle dusters. Both reported on BBC television news. 3. Private guards employed by airlines were considered inadequate, so they were replaced by federally employed guards. Yes, you guessed it. They were the same people with no extra training. I know a guy who reports on security, particularly aviation security and he could get a bomb on an airfcraft in several european countries so how safe do you think the US is ? :~ If they just applied normal project management processes security would improve drastically ! If I hadn't written this I wouldn't believe it. The tigress is here :-D

Good grief. I agree with you. I have a female friend with very large breasts and she was frisked three times before getting on the airplane, then again at the stop-over. This harrassment must stop! Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.
