Uhm it was a suggestion posted there, it was never implemented! :)

Oh, OK :) I think Chris Elston has expressed what I wanted to say much better than I could though - Bob does get a new outfit for all "vague" occasions... :) Btw, were you suggesting people would not be familiar with the Indian Independence day (or the flag)?!! On this site?

No I was not. But a lot of non-Indians may not want to see it. I believe the admins themselves are not 100% convinced of this, and I say this since I have been suggesting they do this since 2001. Even when I worked for CP, I could not convince Chris into doing this. Eventually I just gave up.

I totally agree. I was just never able to convice Chris though despite trying hard.

The film was OK but no where near good enough to have it's own Bob.....Star Wars on the other hand.

He gets dressed up for loads of occasions I know nothing of, and him being different is often the first I know something is going on. Of course that means whoever does the drawing needs to know something is going on too. Cannot see how anyone could possibly object, unless they are a raving nationalist or racist with a specific problem against someone, in which case getting him dressed up and upsetting them can only be a good thing. [EDIT] OK, possibly Dalek Dave as each new Independence Day reminds him of the break up of the British Empire.

Not at all, I think the Indian members need something to take their minds off the Cricket.

I'm kind of disappointed by that picture. That's kind the same regular naked Bob visiting India. I'd like to see Bob dressed as an Indian guy :)

There's no free lunch. Let's wait for the dinner. Take a look at Silverlight Menu4U here in The Code Project.

Me too, but that kind of begs the question what would Indian Bob look like? From memory most of the images used play on certain stereotypes that 'we white folk' have about countries. What would Indian Bob look like, and would it be considered offensive, if you asked me I'd stick him in a beard and a turban, with a pipe in his hand and a basket with a snake coming out at his feet. Of course you could have something nicely designed by a friendly Indian person, but then would it be universally recognisable as Indian?

Feather headress and a wigwam? C'mon... All he needs is a pair of round specs and a dhobi. Or if you really want to be racist, a cricket bat and a duck. Look all you really need is an Indian flag draped around him, a flowery lei type thing (Sorry guys, don't know the proper name) and degree from Calcutta university.
