For any Mac users, I intend to ask my Mac store, but they have a strong record of lying to me. I have a Mac Pro, bought 2 1/2 years ago. I have two hard drives, one has OSX and one has Windows XP. I want to install a 64 bit OS, so it can use all my RAM and VS might even let me compile my app more than twice without needing a restart. However, it does not support XP 64 bit, I know that much. Can I install a third hard drive and have two versions of Windows installed ? I expect I should, but, the Mac store assured me I could partition my hard drive I run Windows on, and that turned out not to be true, I paid them to do it for me, just to save me losing a day, and they returned a Mac that would not boot at ALL.

I managed to install OS/X, Windows 7, and Linux on a single hard drive, but that is probably not much help to you. I don't know if you can install 2 different versions of Windows on 3 hard drives or not (was not an option for me since I have an iMac - at least using multiple internal hard disks was not an option). My install involved using BootCamp to divide up the hard disk for OS/X and Windows (allowing enough space on the Windows (BootCamp) partition to hold both Windows and my Linux install). I then booted to Windows and ran the Ubuntu installer and let it split up the Windows partition as it saw fit. I used rEFIt to make them all (easily) bootable. http://refit.sourceforge.net/[^] Don't know if any of the above is of any use to your situation though. :~

Hmmm... yeah, getting the two versions of windows to just boot off the one drive is another decent option to consider....

Hmmm... yeah, getting the two versions of windows to just boot off the one drive is another decent option to consider....

I know that is fairly easy on normal windows machines, I have had one with 3 different installs on the same drive. However being its on a Mac.... not sure how well that would work.

Exactly. It comes down to what boot camp will support ( for example, it won't support windows on a drive that has partitions ).

Not a bad idea, but I'd feel like, if I made them hook it all up, and it all worked, I'd feel a goon.

They count your money and make sure you gave them every penny they charged you. Make sure you get what you paid for, no hard feelings on either side, it's a business transaction.
