We have them here in the UK. It's called the House of Commons.

In the U.S. we have a hybrid pork/beef program, the Senate and the House of Representatives, respectively. Since the House mostly contains bulls, you can imagine their principal byproduct.

Before this year is over there will be over seven billion humans alive at the same time according to a report from some French institute. That's about 2 acres (~4,8ha) of habitable land for every person. So, we may want to start thinking about restructuring our planet. I suggest we begin be moving all the Apple stores to the north pole to clear space for more pig farms. With enough bacon, we'll have all the energy we need to start strip-mining Antarctica and use that landmass to connect all the continents. Then we move Greenland somewhere close to the equator and call it Mega-hawaii.

We are fucking ourselves to starvation. Then you get 'Religious' Leaders who say that breeding like vermin is the way god likes it, and that unnatural contraception is evil. Well, the resultant reduction in population will be completely natural, they will starve to death. Look at Somalia and Ethiopia, starvation and drought again, only this time there are 3 times the population as at the time of Live Aid. Contraception must be a condition of international aid. You want your food? Get your vasectomy first.

The problem being that mankind has no _real_ predator anymore, not the lack of contraception. Unless you start wanting to control the population growth, but then again, who can be wise enough to decide of the number of children people are "allowed" to make ?

Ah, but Muslim countries do not like women to be educated, it means they can think for themselves and realise that they deserve better.

That is a dangerous shortcut.
Not inaccurate though. A simple rendering of facts. Look at Afghanistan, Oman, Somlia etc. They all have problems associated with the education of woman. Saudi Arabia doesn't allow a woman to drive. Islam treats women as second class, this is not a racist statement at all, but an observable fact.

I'm going to disagree in that Dave. Arabs are definitely misogynistic, but not Muslims. In the Far East, Muslim countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia have universal schooling.

I think I would re-phrase it as highly dogmatic religious countries/communities seem to not want to have educated women people in their midst... This goes as much for Christians, Hindus, Buddhists,.... in my experience... allegedly...

While you have some good ideas that I like, according to this link[^], we won't be reaching the 7 billion people mark until November 29, 2012 11:26:56. That makes it a little more than a year (approx. 16 months) away from now. :)

But this refers to a more recent study. We all know the exact figures are just educated guesses. Lot's of people live off the grid, some countries don't really have much of a grid to begin with. And according to the UN there's been a huge increase in slave trade over the last decade... all those people live invisible lives, behind the gates of mansions, sweatshops, illegal plantations and perhaps even in your neighbors basement.

I've been in my neighbours basement and while I can attest that there are no slaves, believe me, you do not want to go there. :)
