Free E-Mail provider
-
I am conducting a little survey about different free e-mail providers. I will be TA'ing a C++ course this spring semester and I am looking to set up an account that the students in the course at Iowa State University[^] can contact me at. I would prefer that the service allows students to send me small attachments if they are having problems with their code. What is the best UI you have seen on the web, aside from someone special giving me a nickp@codeproject.com e-mail address? ;P

I highly recomend MyRealBox.com[^]. They are a free IMAP provider (linked with Novell i think). I have had an account there for about 2 years now and it has only gone down twice in that time. I can use the web interface or Outlook / OE to log in.

There's no such thing as "free" providers, especially on the internet. www.myway.com[^] They are a "yahoo-wannabe". I love that they are going for "no advertising - just speed" for their pages. Mike Stanbrook mstanbrook@yahoo.com

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

I've been using netscape.net 5MB of space, free POP3 access. I'm a little wary that the POP3 access will end sometime (since most other free email providers have dropped it), but they haven't yet and I've been using their email for over a year now. ------------------------------------------ "Isn't it funny how people say they'll never grow up to be their parents, then one day they look in the mirror and they're moving aircraft carriers into the Gulf region?" - The Onion

Not sure if that model is sustainable, but they were ranked as the fastest growing search engine (in terms of usage). Mike Stanbrook mstanbrook@yahoo.com
