According to freely available data, IE6 is used by nearly 10% of people.[^] Sorry but that's really scary. Just read it again, 1 in 10 people wilfully expose themselves online via an unsecured and compromised browser.

But that 10% will be primarily those who know nothing about computers, or people who are forced to use it because of business practices. (ie British Government[^])

Home use or corporations? No I haven't read the story. If it's home use then yeah it's scary. If it's(and that's what I think) corporate PCs then I'm not surprised as there are some companies(few, true) still running on Windows 2000. Not to mention most of them still on XP and half of those running corporate PCs on XP haven't upgraded to IE8.
All the best, Dan

I know of one rather large global corporation that still uses IE6 as the standard (145,000 plus people). They are now starting (slowly) to move to IE7.

Actually, excepting those who're forced to use it by their govt (South Korea requires an activeX plugin for eCommerce), they're almost all in countries that overwhelmingly use Warezdows. Numbers for the developed world are much lower the global average (USA @ 1.7, UK @ 2.4%, Norway @ 0.3%). SK and China are the only countries with >10% usage; it's just that warezdows XP is huge in china and skewing the global stats heavily. http://www.ie6countdown.com/[^]
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies. -- Sarah Hoyt
