My office box is i7 4 core running at 2.67 Ghz with 6 GB RAM. I run Weven64 and am pretty happy. I just noticed however that it was running more like a 286. The phrase 'fast as a sumo' springs to mind. So I had a look at task manager and apart from some VM's taking up a few GB of memory there was nothing out of order except for Firefox. It was using over 4 GB of memory. I closed ~10 pages and it was still over 3MB. Then I closed it and reopened, then clicked the old re-open last session doo-dah. Memory is now a respectable 100MB; me thinks it's leaking like a day old nappy.

That's the problem with Firefox: leaking memory even when closing tabs. I read they're addressing this issue in version 7, due for release in a few weeks. I hope so at least.

Chrome uses more memory for the same pages, I'll see how it does on leaking.

I'm on a beta of FF7. In a couple of weeks I expect to be on around version 19 the way they are going at the moment.

Ditto here. Chrome is a lot snappier. Firefox looks like going down the spiral now.

On a sadder note, Firefox 6 is also completely broken... F5 or click refresh, does not really refresh any more, you need Ctrl + F5. What it does though on it's normal refresh, is shocking, and violates probably 100 HTTP rules. Dont believe me? Try it @ http://eval.ironscheme.net/[^]. 1. Open site. 2. Click 'Load snippet' 3. Click 'Run' 4. Click Refresh or F5 Didn't expect that, did you? Now try it in every other browser you can find.
