As someone who has pretty well kept tabs on the movement, from the time they were proudly calling themselves Teabaggers(and I was dying laughing), there are two varieties of Tea Party politicians. One, the stupid ones, the blindly violent, ignorant, and obviously completely not at fault for what any of their rhetoric invokes ones. Two, the unfortunate ones, who thought they could actually accomplish something from a third party, and don't have the good sense to run screaming from the lot of idiots they threw in with. If you're a Tea Partier and you have sane goals, run for the hills and start something else, because the moment someone attached a bunch of tea bags in a corporate board room to protest taxes it was quite over. The tricorn hats with tea bags stapled to them were a bad sign as well.
Since Chris has made it clear that he does not want posts about American politics in SB2. I responded at length to your post in SB1. You are welcome to argue it there. It's probably too late for me to remember the house rules, but whatthehell, I try. BTW: I won't be reading any responses to this post, so if you are actually interested in a discussion rather than the yammer that some folks seem incapable of rising above, you'll have to follow me over there.

Pretty sure that the are hundreds and perhaps even thousands of attributes that are genetic in origin for which there is absolutely no genetic test. Your response would seem to tend to suggest that because such a test does not exist that it means that those genetic attributes are not in fact genetic either.

As you have proved over and over again. However, I have twice been dragged back into this thread after having reenabled get emails. For some reason, I don't seem to be able to ignore insults once I've read 'em. It's a failing, I know. I am again disabling emails and so you can have the last word knowing that I'll never see it. I have also advised Chris that I think the entire thread should be dumped into the back room. And, of course, a researcher who believes that solar activity has a greater effect on the earth's climate than does CO2 must have an 'agenda'. As must one who believes the contrary. The key word is "belief" If any researcher in any field has a belief and then selects data, or creates it wholesale, in order to "prove" his belief then he is no scientist, he is a hack. I am quite sure that there are researchers who believe that sexuality is determined genetically, and those who believe that it is determined totally by environment. The ones I think should be doing the research are the ones who don't have beliefs, simply an open mind. I, for one, have no idea, what makes someone homosexual. Equally, I have no idea whether we are actually in a period of global warming or not. I, really don't care whether someone is a homosexual, though I despise whiny little queens and butches who run around making their sexual preference the be-all and end-all of their existence. And it seems to me that if we are dealing with global warming, we need to do what we can to adapt to it rather than use it as an excuse to transfer wealth from the West to the East.
