Ohhh, aristocratic - yeah, that may be. That really depends on how you pronounce the words ;-)

That seems to be a PEBKAC problem, Sir. Why don't you go and fetch a coffee while I handle the operation?

If you going to do Tarzan impersonations shouldn't you wait for Talk Like a Primate Day?

Well, in my experience, "Talk Like a Primate Day" is not on a fixed date; it automagically happens when drunk.

More than you would think. My father actually came from "Ostpreußen", which makes me at least a half Preiß. (The other half is Pfälzer, thanks to my mum.)

As far as I recall, you also don't come from Bavaria (Ruhrpott, right?).

Now that webcam is pure torture. I have to sit here and work while I could be there within 20 minutes.

Same here, could be there within minutes, but I really try to avoid it as long as possible. I have to go there with clients anyway, but i try to push that ahead as far as possible every year. Don't like the big crowds of tourists that think, they have to dress up to go there.

Here it's not the tourists who dress up. Just right now there are more people with the correct outfit in the room than not :)

Köln. That makes you a "Preiß" in the eyes of the locals, no matter how much assimilated. :-)

Yes, of all people. Not that we did not historically have our own little encounter with the 'Preißn' :) "Hört op zu scheeße, seht ihr net dat da Lüt stonn!" :)

27 years since she quit calling DD back. He did live in Germany around then, right? Good post Dave, she aged incredibly well, wow.

Naaah, that can't be right: K'town is too close to the Saarland, and the language up there is all mixed up. (Around K'town, they are really refering to girls not as "she", but as "it" - which _is_ the influence from the Saarland.) That doesn't count, really.
