Microsoft removes Google Chrome

Assuming you attempted a clean uninstall, sounds bad, but then again not as bad as adobe's updater telling you "woohoo, here I am again, and by the way you have to accept some new terms and conditions again and reboot your computer! woohoo!"

Flash and java don't require reboots; beyond that I use foxit and refuse to install any iFailware on my PC.

I just read this article http://gizmofusion.com/2011/09/microsoft-anti-virus-update-says-google-chrome-is-a-trojan/[^] about the latest update for Microsoft Security Essentials tagging Google Chrome as a trojan. That is certainly one way of getting rid of the competition. :)

I hate myself for cheering on Microsoft on this, but it is Google.

Never had to restart for adobe. But I have to update after every startup :~

I never even tried Chrome, because I really don't trust Google.

I've been using Chrome for almost a year now and it's the best browser I've had so far. IE works really bad for me (Google not showing search results, Silverlight doesn't work (the whole reason someone would use IE), slow, etc...). I can't say I trust Google, but then again, who is to trust? And if I wouldn't use Chrome I'd still use Google, so what's the difference really? ;)

Chrome is predicted to be the No. 2 browser by the end of the year - unfortunately. :(

I know that. It also doesn't require me to do anything except IIRC close my browser if I opened it already.

I'd love to use IE9 in place of Google Chrome, but its Silverlight implementation prevents me from using the Windows Azure Management Portal. Until that's fixed, Chrome remains my default browser.
