I'd never heard of "cracker pulling" before -- definitely looks like a British-only (ok, Canadian too) custom that didn't quite make it big in the US... :) _"No one goes to hell because of their sin, but because of rejecting God's method of salvation: His Son's life for yours..."

You're probably right, but it only takes a few uA to kill. It's just that our skin is a good insulator. Given the right conditions..... Or perhaps the voltage jolt stopped their hearts??? Anyway I've had a 1MV shock off a vandagraph generator (sp?) and was OK, it just hurt a bit. However a shock off a colour TV tube, now that hurt!!!

Maybe since its a fairly small battery they get a shock (sic) and swallow it ? The tigress is here :-D

Jeremy Davis wrote: but it only takes a few uA to kill. True, but the current has to flow across a path that includes the heart or other vital organ. Two terminals pressed to the tongue provide a perfectly safe path that can't possibly cause a fatality, at least not by direct electric shock. It's possible, I suppose, that someone with problems in the nervous system might die of the sensation in the nerves, but shock would not be the cause of death. Jeremy Davis wrote: However a shock off a colour TV tube, now that hurt!!! Ouch!!! That definitely smarts! Automobile ignition circuits are fun, too!
