They are all complicit. When we in Britain decided we didn't like our leaders or the direction society was taking, we had a civil war (or four in fact), or we executed the King (six times). The same in France, America, Russia etc. The people wouldn't take it anymore. But in Afghanistan they just sit there and let these fuckers do what they want. Either they support them or they don't, and if they don't then why are they not killing the taliban? The terrorists do not live in isolation, they are there in the towns and villages, and the population of these places is feeding them, offering them sanctuary and support, and doing so for what reason? Presumably because they agree with them. So they are not innocent as you state, but guilty by association.

This is so simplistic as to be ridiculous. Do you think that everyone in North Korea supports the regime there? Or that people in Communist controlled Eastern Europe liked the direction of their society? Or, for that matter, the French in 1787? Revolution is difficult and dangerous, particularly in a place where the leadership also controls access to information and weaponry. Also, almost every country will stick together even with a pretty bad leadership if it is being invaded by foreigners. A lot of what is branded 'terrorism' is aimed at the invading forces and so can more accurately be termed 'resistance' or 'guerilla warfare' (though there's no excuse for the attacks on Afghan police and civilians).

Have you ever watched the news? Most killing in Afghanistan is aimed at local populations, not military. Ditto Iraq, Sunni and Shia fighting each other. (Presumably over the royalties).

I look at how many people these peasants have killed and think "Screw 'em". The Taliban have banned singing, laughing, stopped children from flying kites etc. Bunch of miserable cunts with ugly women who need to stop praying and start living and laughing. Nuke the whole fucking country and be done with it.

I have served in some shitholes in my time, and was there in the desert in Gulf 1. I hated it but had a job to do. Back then we were fighting Saddam's soldiers (mostly scared boys who were drafted and were only too happy to be captured and fed, if truth be known). The guys over there now are fighting cowards who will not wear a uniform and who use women and children to carry bombs into market places. Why are they not saying "No". If they stopped fighting and started working, built an infrastructure, pretended they were ready to join the 21st century and humanity then their lives would improve no end. But they cannot, for they need to stick to the rigid demands of these extremists. The fact that they do this is telling, and is sad.

I am sorry if I was aggressive. and i realy respect you for fighting saddam. dave, this people are grown in dark an fear, specially their women. they know nothing about their human rights, most of them. in my country most people think someday some holy guy will come from the sky and free them of pain! this is what they are told since they were a baby and believe me its so hard to get away from this s**ty ideas when there is no freedom to talk or even think! so they think this is the truth, they should wait and live their miserable life. but not all of them are like this. I understand that you are mad about them (me too) but not all of them are like this. we had many people have been killed in last years trying to say that they don't want this and i were among that people. and I'm saying they deserve to have a normal life. No, I am not. I had the balls to put on a uniform and stand on the line. They are cowardly motherfuckers who hide in women's clothing and send children to fight for them. Ever worn a uniform? Ever been in harms way? Ever been shot at? No? Then you have no view on what it takes to do that shit.

Nevertheless, the encounter happened in their soil, not yours. If they attacked you in your soil, you can call them terrorists, otherwise, I see it the other way round.

Honestly, no. But it does not require someone to be on the battlefield to criticize a battle.

this is exactly the feeling that i have. after this years of fighting against the government and after all those nice people who have been killed I'm asking myself why doesn't anybody care?! maybe they don't believe in a better world. so they don't deserve to have it. some of my friends have been tortured. these f***ing animals raped the girls in prison and then you hear from the TV(gov) that these are exciters and people believe them!!! so i think this is a crazy crazy world.

Except that the current 'wars' in Iraq and Afghanistan are less like wars and more like the richest, most powerful nations in the world invading and battering two of the poorest for absurd reasons.

this is exactly the feeling that i have. after this years of fighting against the government and after all those nice people who have been killed I'm asking myself why doesn't anybody care?! maybe they don't believe in a better world. so they don't deserve to have it. some of my friends have been tortured. these f***ing animals raped the girls in prison and then you hear from the TV(gov) that these are exciters and people believe them!!! so i think this is a crazy crazy world.

Except that the current 'wars' in Iraq and Afghanistan are less like wars and more like the richest, most powerful nations in the world invading and battering two of the poorest for absurd reasons.

As I stated above, we should just pull out and let them rot. (True story...One of my chums was in Afghanistan and was assigned as part of a protection detail on a poppy field! He objected and was nearly put on a charge until the sergeant pointed out to the officer that it would look ridiculous charging a soldier to protect the heroin industry!).

We bombed Dresden. Who thinks about that?

And who would claim that doing the same thing now would be justified? In WWII we learnt a lot about the destructive powers of airborne bombs and why we need to be more careful about weapons of war in civilian areas.

I could never agree more with erfan and I live in Israel in which many people think like "nuke them all". I wish however to point out an historical truth. EVERY nation/empire that tried to tame the tribes in that area throughout the ages got its behind kicked eventually. So I say live and let live. If they want help let them ask for it. If they want to be super religious fanatics and treat women like possession then let's hope that if there is some kind of higher power, that it is a rational one and will punish them accordingly at some point or another. This global village idea of "nuke" them then go in and help them is really so late sixties early seventies. People just die in vain because of it. And one more thing. I really do not think that most of the people are extremists. Because they are not as such they can't mentally descent to the level of brutality extremists do unless they hit rock bottom and then some (see Arab Spring).
