We'll have known each other 11 years December, our wedding anniversary is May and we have spent around 3 years living apart. It is not easy, but we manage. The current situation is for the benefit of the girls, so they can get at least a year or two of formal Hungarian learning.

I was in Singapore for six months, Sweden for Six months and two years in London. We're now separated again as they're back in Budapest and I'm still in London. But I go home every weekend and we have a very strong commitment to each other. The limited time we have together these days is used to the max and we try to make the most of it for the children as well. Every night I call the girls on skype and talk for anything up to an hour about their day and after they go to bed, I will spend another hour chatting with Mrs Wife. I think we probably talk more than many married couples living under the same roof.

It's not great but we get through it. We had the last 5 years in London, which was great, and now the girls have gone back to school. I hope that I can start doing 1 or 2 days per week at home soon which will make things much easier.

It is very hard, but you make the most of it. My parents often spent months apart when we were young as me Da was army. For both grandparents it was years for the same reason. I feel I am lucky to be able to get home every week; I know a lot of people who do the commute and only get home every two or three week.

Trust me, you don't want to choose this way of life. I love my family very much and it is heart wrenching to be spending most of my time away from them. I have to use my time with them fully and it does mean I get very little rest. I work hard during the week - often over 10 hours a day - and then try to fill my weekends with as much quality time as possible. My advice is be careful what you wish for.

Married for 11 years, together for 16. Not everyone is cut out for marriage. Don't get married if you think it is not for you. Marriage is work. If you are lazy then don't get married. You are not always right. Admit when you are wrong. Children will be more important to your wife then you. If this bothers you then don't get married. -- Love the one your with.

Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.
