First to get matters straight - I am not talking about this Prism - http://prism.mozillalabs.com/[^] or this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prism_(optics)[^]. I am talking about this - http://compositewpf.codeplex.com/[^]. Last time I looked at Prism was when it was first made to public. I was not too impressed. I started researching on it again. It looks a little better but still seems to be a lot of work to do little. Are you using Prism in a real project (not a sample or academic)? If yes, how has it helped you?

Yes, I've used it in a project before and I'm currently using it again. It helps for modularity and keeping things loosely coupled. I do agree that it takes longer to do things and the learning curve is steep, but now things go a lot quicker on the 2nd project because I know how to do things using it. Specifically the event aggregator, region manager and ioc container has helped a lot.

I think it has good intention but excessive complexity! Have a look at that[^] too! (Shameless plug! )

We are using a version of Prism that's been hacked into shape for WinForms (by a previous contractor, I hasten to add). It may be that it is used poorly within this project but to me it adds a lot of complexity and confusion for very little gain.

Marlong Grech started off MefedMVVM and asked me to help after we had a few late night sessions grumbling about how poor PRISM actually is in terms of effort to reward. You can download it here[^] :-D
