Home Secretary Theresa May is banning Muslims Against Crusades, a group planning an anti-Armistice Day protest. The organisation had planned to repeat a demonstration held last year, when members burned poppies near to London's Albert Hall.

The problem with that of course is in who exactly gets to define what is objectionable.

The courts do. In the UK, the freedom of speech is curtailed when it is likely to incite violence. Shouting 'kill the wogs' is an example of this. Burning poppies outside the venue of a festival of remembrance whist calling for the death of all soldiers is not an expression of opinion but a deliberately calculated act to offend. Though I would not wish to have their right to express their opinion that Britain's involvement in Afghanistan is wrong, I cannot accept the way they try to exercise this. It would be like trying to condone the behavior of the Westboro Baptist Church...

"Muslims Against Crusades" Did they miss the fact the Crusades stopped in the 15th century?

            That certainly seems very subjective.

Odd. The intent in the US is that courts enforce the laws - they don't make them.

Also odd. In the US there are any number of venues including those that are purely artistic which the intent is specifically to offend. Naturally of course one is also then dependent on who gets to decide what is offensive. For example I certainly don't want eating meat to be outlawed because someone else finds it offensive.

Still a popular topic among Muslim fundamentalist. It's ridiculous, but as long as they have an excuse to hate you it doesn't matter to those fascist idiots. That the crusades are somehow connected to the big war is probably another piece of their made-up history.

Religion's stupid. Political ideology is also getting pretty close to religious faith. Personality cults and anything faith based is usually a recipe for stupid and bad stuff will follow.
