In England it is illegal to be (not merely serve) intoxicated within a public house. How the hell they enforce that one I'd like to know. [edit] Can anyone point me to some reliable information about this? It was something my dad told me (we used to run a pub and worked in them till '98 or so).

It's clearly in the same category as Cowboy Bebop, but I would say it's IMHO a little less good: There isn't the beautiful drawing style there's on Bebop, and the music is less impressive :) However characters are interesting and the stories seem good. I don't know Vampire Hunter, but I will look for it, thanks for the tip :)

I think the story of Trigun is better than Bebop; but my prior reason probably has some influence on that as well. Vampire Hunter D is way different, it is a movie (rather old as well). For something completely different you could look for "Sakura Diaries", its a bit fucked up (a girl falls in love with her cousin) but was still fun to watch. I didn't get to see all of it, but "Excel Saga" was WAY messed up. There was another one that was making the rounds last summer called "Jungle wa.... " something or other, it was another quirky one.
