It's clearly in the same category as Cowboy Bebop, but I would say it's IMHO a little less good: There isn't the beautiful drawing style there's on Bebop, and the music is less impressive :) However characters are interesting and the stories seem good. I don't know Vampire Hunter, but I will look for it, thanks for the tip :)

I think the story of Trigun is better than Bebop; but my prior reason probably has some influence on that as well. Vampire Hunter D is way different, it is a movie (rather old as well). We use here the generic term of "manga" to cover japanimation, but I wasn't sure the word was international :) James T. For something completely different you could look for "Sakura Diaries", its a bit fucked up (a girl falls in love with her cousin) but was still fun to watch. I didn't get to see all of it, but "Excel Saga" was WAY messed up. There was another one that was making the rounds last summer called "Jungle wa.... " something or other, it was another quirky one.
