I'll praise you. I'll think good thoughts about you roughly two or three times a week (excluding vacations and national holidays). I'll write a poem praising you. In German. I'll even hug you if you so desire. It's really easy. Write a Visual Studio AddIn that allows to searches files for specific text. Visual Studio does that already you say? Well. It seems I can't find these litte, simple checkboxes:

    restrict search to

    Comments

    String literals

    String resources

That's really not much to ask, is it? Thanks in Advance.

Good idea. It would have to be language specific too, seeing that different languages have different comment styles. As a start, for searching comments could you not use a regular expression? In c# you know the line will start with // or ///

      And what about /* .... */?

And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"

And I smiled and was happy
      And it came worse.

-16, so a high-but-not-maxed one. Maybe it sounded to programming-ish for someone.

Regex + Find in files comes pretty close, but then you still have to remember VS's weird regex :)

Well you can eliminate the first by not writing comments*, the second you can find with a simple regex and the third by searching only in *.resx, right? *: no not really. But that's a simple regex too.
