I think I have been getting a negative 3% raise annually for the last few years.

5% for the same role is very, very good in the current economic situation. (I got 9% but that's because it was essentially a semi-promotion.)

Those promotions are nice, aren't they? :-D I managed about 30% last year, but I doubt I'll go much higher until the GM retires. As Engineering Manager, there isn't any other slot for me to occupy until then.
