Reliable ASP.net hosts
-
Just wondered if anyone could recommend a company for ASP.net hosting (with vs.net dll & codebehind support) for less than $10/month. I have been using http://www.hostonce.com[^]. There prices are excellent, but I find their support to be flaky. I don't need a lot of space, at least 75mb, though. :-D ******************** * $TeVe McLeNiThAn ********************

I have seen this one touted a bit http://www.ehostingbiz.com/hostmain.asp[^] Seriously though, I think as you get into the lower end of the market where hosting is treated like a commodity, the service must always suffer. Regardz Colin J Davies

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

I've been using one of the ehostingbix.com http://www.webhost4life.com/ [^]spinoffs and have been pretty pleased. Tech support is fast and so far pretty good. They don't provide real indepth answers, but they do solve problems! I figure for the price, it's a darn good deal. Especially with all the .NET support and the database capabilities.

Stay away! I used these guys for a year, and it was nothing but a hassle. Email worked only 70% of the time. They switched me to a "new server" no less than 4 times, and each time every email account had to be recreated. To top it off, a week after I switched hosts they "accidentally" screwed-up the permissions on my SQL DB. I never would have known had it not been for a user of www.webhost4life.com sending me an email letting me know he was able to get into every table in my database. Buyer beware. Yeah, you get what you pay for. A friend of mine who has is own ISP is charging close to 50$ US for a similar service. I guess the other 40$ goes in service. Regardz Colin J Davies

So Ryan.. What did you switch too .. The Thread has stopped and we still don't have an answer >> Has anyone worked with a reliable .NET Host yet ??? I'm interested as well. There are too many to choose from ... Dato ..
I switched to www.webburner.com[^]. However, it's only been a month, so I can't really say yet that they are reliable. I certainly have a better feeling about them, though. They have a much better control panel and much better mail service (IMail) with a much better web-front to the mail. Give them a look. Ryan LaNeve www.laneve.com[^]

I have been using them for almost a year. They are running my company website, plus a production ASP.NET application. They have worked very well. No major problems to speak of. They respond REALLY fast to support emails. In addition, they have LiveHelp through their website which is really nice.

Dato wrote: Has anyone worked with a reliable .NET Host yet ??? I'm totally satisfied with Innerhost[^]. Well, they rae not really the cheapest, but they provide great service, online support, all these nice .NET features and they are totally MS driven (Office, Sharepoint, ...).
